Interior Walls Are Going Up.

Exterior Logs are done, work on interior walls are underway, but rain is forecast for the next few days.... this has got to be the rainiest spring we've had in several years. Good for the green green grass, bad for construction and muddy, mucky messes.

It's coming along quickly now!

It is really taking shape ---

Inner partition walls are going in next in order to get started on the second floor, then the roof is coming.

More rows are going in, and will go up really quickly from here. Mom needs to get the tin roof ordered, we will need it before you know it!

The Logs are On-Site

We got them moved from Dallison's even in thunderstorms and rain! First bundle setting on subfloor. If all goes according to plan they will start about 10 this morning.

And the Rains Came Again

...and so did the logs. We had to unload them at Dallison's Lumber. The mud was so bad it would suck the shoes off your feet.

We've Got A Floor

Thanks to many many hardworking folks who fried themselves in the hot sun this weekend...

I wonder if Dad is talking about where the shade trees are going to go?

The future music room:

The subfloor is complete, ready for the logs which are coming in just two days!

Now We've Got Ourselves Some Real Progress!

A completed basement! Sub-floor to come in just a couple of days.

Logs set for delivery on May 28th.
Evenings on the front porch in the woods a few months later.

Look at that view... beautiful spring day with blue skies, lush green trees, privacy and two (count them!) two bathrooms in a single house. It will be worth all the agony and truckloads of gravel for the road!
