After a LONG Delay, New Photos!

Even though no photos have been posted here in a while, there has been a flurry of activity up in the hollow. Finish work is underway inside the house, and before we know it, we'll have furniture and it will be ready to move in.

Here are the latest progress pictures:

Windows!

The big windows are in. John did a fantastic job!

The rest of the windows will be finished up shortly, and the interior stairs are going in today.

The entire house now has at least one coat of the final stain. The color is so rich in real life, like an aged wine barrel.
It is really looking great!

Don't look if you are afraid of heights

Because just looking at Bill up here makes me a little nauseous.

But just look how GREAT the stain of the wood and the windows are looking!!

FINALLY! (you say)

I know, I know. The webmaster has been a bit lax in getting new photos up. But she has been quite busy, what with real work and all getting in the way of more fun tasks. Bleh.

Anyway, for your viewing pleasure:

A Finished Basement Floor! And,
Mom adding the stain to the logs on the front porch. And,

The guys rough-fitting the windows on the far side of the house. And,

The view coming up the driveway, showing the best front porch ever. Can't WAIT to sit there.

Progress Pictures

It has been a few days with no pictures. Progress is slowing down a bit as work begins on the details, so less dramatically changing photos, but here are a couple of great shots of the house:

The view of the house heading up the driveway:

This is the back end of the house, where the master bedroom and bath are located:
That's Dave on the roof, trying to look tough.

Here's a great shot of the ceiling in the living room:
and a view looking down from the loft into the living room:
You can almost make out the tin roof by ABC Metals that is going on the dormer. It is a light greyish color and will blend well with the final exterior stain.

And THIS is the back yard of the little house on the hill, lit by the sun, surrounded by trees.
The logs for the house are from Old Timer Log and Supply Company in Joliet, TN.

Progress

Here's a photo of the house as it will be seen coming up the driveway - minus windows, naturally.

Some pictures of the white pine ceiling and hemlock beams. This is going to be a grand space when it is finished!

This is the kitchen ceiling, which ducks down to a single story in height, making the space more cozy:
Dave is now a roofer extraordinaire!

The bad part is that Tammy's pool is still green, so he can't jump in after a long, hot day in the sun.
